In unanimous vote, Rochester joins NYC by banning the barbaric practice of “conversion therapy”
We are all #BornPerfect!
Rochester joined New York City by prohibiting the barbaric practice of gay, lesbian and bisexual “conversion therapy. The Rochester City Council unanimously approved a measure which would formally protect LGBTQ youth.
Every leading medical organization has unanimously and unequivocally recognized that the identities of LGBT people should not be targeted for change.
Few practices hurt LGBTQ youth more than attempts to change their sexual orientation or gender identity through so-called “conversion therapy,” which can be deadly.
We applaud Rochester for voting to ban the torture of LGBT people and youth. Protecting our most vulnerable is a New York value.
