LGBT Bar of NY Applauds Erie County for Banning Conversion Therapy.

Tonight Erie County, NY has PASSED a bill to protect LGBTQ youth from conversion therapy, unanimously.

Every leading medical organization has unanimously and unequivocally recognized that the identities of LGBT people should not be targeted for change. Few practices hurt LGBTQ youth more than attempts to change their sexual orientation or gender identity through so-called “conversion therapy,” which can be deadly. We applaud Erie County for unanimously voting to ban this barbaric practice. Protecting our most vulnerable is a New York value.
